Toilet Training Jack - Getting Ahead of Myself

First day of toilet training - major fail

We finally bought a toddler's toilet seat so I can start Jack's potty training. The plan is when I see him doing the 'deed', I rush him to the toilet and sit him in the throne. Simple.

Nothing is ever simple! I see the 'signal'. I call him to do his 'poo poo' in the toilet and I was surprised he followed me. Took pants and nappy off then sat him on the potty. He cried and cried and I am hugging him and singing the Alphabet song, etc. He cried and cried and nothing came out :-(

I am going to spare you the (not-so) gory (but-still-gory) details.

So he's changed and happy once again minding his own thing. I am tending to Summer on the rug, when I saw Jack running out of the bathroom with the  potty in his head! I laughed out loud and thought  - 'we have along road ahead of us.'

Fun times ahead!

Long road ahead of us with Jack's toilet training!

Mum's turn!

Non-related picture. He likes to use everything as his hat! :-)

Jack & Summer series

My life has totally changed with the arrival of my children! I am just 'documenting' my experience with them. Sometimes, I think that they have taken over my life. I mainly talk about them these days!!
One mum I know - and it was a realisation - said to savour every moment because they will grow up and move out one day like her kids!

I know that my son Jack (18-month old) loves his sister 'bubba' Summer (age 3-month old) because:
  1. He pats her when she starts crying.
  2. Offers her toys especially when she's crying.
  3. Would like to sit or lay next to her.
  4. Gives her a big hug to the point of squishing her.
  5. Gives her lots of kisses - accidentally head-butting her sometimes.
  6. Brushes her gums (imaginary teeth) with Dad's toothbrush complete with toothpaste (stolen from our bathroom).
  7. Gives her juice from his sippy cup.
  8. Sometimes giving her bath with his juice!!
  9. Shares his rice crackers with her by stuffing it in her mouth.
  10. Forcing her dummy in her mouth.
  11. Forcing her to high-five him by opening her fingers while uttering 'pibe' repeatedly and then getting frustrated as to why she's not co-operating.
